Good question. Although it is possible someone can get reset mid-season (taking away ill-gotten rating), rating resets often happen during maintenance at the end of the Season, before rewards are granted. If a rating is going to be reset, we ensure that it means they do not receive the rewards from that Season as well.

Hey folks,

With Season 5 recently ending, I thought I would give an update on what we have been doing to curb players who continue to win-trade. To recap from before, players who were caught win-trading were receiving actions ranging from a warning, up to having their characters rating reset. Specifically, the character who we caught doing the win-trading itself. Depending on the characters history, this can also include suspension time as well. Over the course of the last few Seasons, we have seen an overall decline in win-trading action, and we hope that you have seen that as well.

However, in a handful of cases, there are players who continue to win-trade even after repeated warnings and having a characters rating reset. We believe that players such as these are using one character to win-trade, potentially boosting a friends character, and then playing more legitimately on their other characters. This way, they feel they are avoiding punishment on the characters they care about, while breaking our Terms of Service on other characters. In lieu of this, for those handful of players we have added another level of action to curb this behavior. If a player is found to have had repeated warnings, character rating resets, and still continues this action, we are resetting the Ranked PvP rating of every character on their account. This is along with any suspension time which can accompany a Terms of Service violation.

This is all a part of our continued effort to keep Ranked PvP fair for all players. It has always been a minority of players participating in win-trading and we are happy to see that this has declined over time. We are seeing a similar decline in trolls as well, so keep reporting those players. Thanks everyone!

Hey all, the direct answer to this concern is that we want to change the behavior of why players play Ranked. We want to get away from the idea that Ranked is a path to quicker/better stats/gear and rather it is solely about competition between characters that are at the end of their PvP progression. That is why we removed Ranked Comms, changed the Dark Reaver gear to cost Warzone Comms and changed the Daily and Weekly quests to grant Warzone Comms. We understand that players were using these Ranked quests to gear up (that is what they were intended for) and that changing them takes out that Comm income. However, we feel that with the very large price reduction of the PvP gear and removing the need of the 1:1 ratio conversion of Ranked to Warzone Comms the path to gearing up in PvP is in a much better place. Please provide feedback on this change but I want to make it clear that there is no hidden agenda from us on these changes. Thank you.

8v8 medals bugged

Hey all,

The medal changes only apply to Warzone Arenas, both ranked and unranked, and should not take effect in any 8v8 maps. Additionally, the 6k Protection medal should still exist.

The Top 96 Titles will come in the next couple of days after we cross the t's and dot the lower case j's on the list of characters. They are not impacted by the Nexu issue.
