Alright, fair consensus seems to stop doing codes. I hear you on them being shareable like the Cantina code is optimal, but it isn't how they work currently. With that in mind I am going to hold off on it. Again, I apologize if people felt slighted, I only meant it is as a fun downtime killer! I will be more sensitive to that in the future.

Again, we are actively moving towards a possible fix now. We then need to test it to ensure it corrected the issues of this morning. I will pass on updates as I have them.

Second, I apologize if the codes are rubbing people the wrong way. They are not meant to be any kind of compensation for downtime, or anything like that. Merely, we are all sitting here on the forums waiting for the issue to get resolved. In the past we have done something similar as a way for people get some bonus stuff for free while they wait. Everyone is not going to get them, but it could be a nice bonus if you do.

The first batch of 15 codes was not the "rain,' that was just the start. Normally I continually do posts like that the entire time we are down but I don't want to be pouring salt in the wound either. Tell me your feeling on this, do you want me to continue putting out codes while we are down? Or is it just making it worse?

Hey folks,

Quick update. The team has a possible fix for the issues that cropped up this morning. To get them in place for testing is going to take approximately 2 hours from now, and then we can begin running that patch through testing. It is likely that over the next 2 hours I won't have much in the way of updates until we get into testing. Should that change, I will let you know.

Nothing concrete yet! I know we have a few different things we are exploring. The issue is fairly complex and it seems to be affecting our BitRaider and SSN clients differently (although both have issues). This may be why some of you saw quick patches, or no patches at all. The team is still hard at work to determine what happened and how best to proceed forward.

I was just giving an example of why a rollback isn't as simple as it seems. No need to get concerned about re-downloading the game or anything. Our goal is to get things up as fast as possible with minimal impact to all of you (beyond the downtime).

Unfortunately, a rollback is not simple. It is not out of the realm of possibility, but it would have some pretty serious impact to some players. Including the need to redownload the entire game if they patched 5.4a. That would certainly not be optimal.

We aren't taking any options off the table, but first we need to understand what the issue is and the best way to address it. Our goal is to get the game back online as soon as possible.

The team is actively investigating what happened with 5.4a, obviously the issues prevalent in the patch are not good. We are going to remain down until we can figure out the issue and address it. My early expectation is that this will not be a quick process, but I do not currently have an ETA. I will keep you apprised of updates as I get them.
