Hey folks,

Seeing some questions about exactly how the bonus is tabulated. Such as, is it just the Stronghold unlock or does it include the rooms, how do duplicates counts, etc. I am working on getting all of those details from the dev team and should have them by this afternoon.

Share the Love and Subscriber Rewards

Hey folks,

Quick update on the share the love promotion and the Feb subscriber rewards.
  • Share the love - If you qualified for the promotion, you should now see the extra 30 days reflected on your account. If you don't see them but you feel you should have them, please contact customer support. I recommend double checking the requirements to ensure you qualified.
  • Subscriber rewards - Normally, we can grant items like this outside of a maintenance without issue. Unfortunately, we ran into an issue with this item grant that is going to require a small patch to address. We are working to schedule this for next Tuesday, March 6th, if possible. I will confirm timing and details tomorrow! Apologies for any inconvenience in the items being delayed.
Thanks everyone.

If that is the case, I am curious why it is completely optional.
Like I agree that a guild should be able to say "I'm tiny but strong" and compete against bigger guilds, but if bigger guilds can do less for the same reward it is just going to be abused.
I am curious how this will be addressed?
Let me try to let it out with an example and see if I can make more sense of it. Let's say a Conquest has 3 planets that you can invade...

Planet 1
Low point requirement to complete
Low reward for completing that conquest

Planet 2
Medium point requirement to complete
Medium reward for completing that conquest

Planet 3
High point requirement to complete
High reward for completing that conquest

If you look at planet 1, since there is a lower point requirement to complete the Conquest, it is loosely targeted at smaller guilds. However, since it is easier to complete, it means less rewards. If a large Guild still wanted to go for it, they still can. It will obviously be easier for them with larger player contribution, but they would be sacrificing conquest rewards to do so (since planet 2 and 3 would reward more).

TLDR - Small planets mean small rewards, big planets mean big rewards.

Six empty Strongholds does mean 150% bonus, yes.

Conquest Changes Coming in 5.8

Hey folks,

In Game Update 5.8, were giving the Conquest system a pretty big overhaul. This thread is meant to talk through all of the changes that are coming and to answer any follow-up questions that you have! For starters, we wanted to resolve the reward delivery issues we have had in the past. While the team was in there, they decided to give the system a touch up.

The user interface (UI) is the first place you will notice changes, as the entire Conquest UI has been reworked. You will notice that the top bar has been updated to separate your Solo and Guild Conquests from each other. The solo tab will clearly list the current Conquest Objectives and your progress towards your personal goal. The Guild tab (called Guild Invasions) will show the planetary leaderboards and Guild rewards along with two new things. A section which shows a contribution leaderboard within your Guild and a button Current Conquerors which is a list of what planets are being conquered by what Guild.

There are a number of changes coming to Conquest objectives:
  • Completing objectives will now award credits, experience points, and Command Experience in addition to their Conquest points.
  • Conquest point values for all objectives have been rebalanced across the board.
  • In addition to one-time and repeatable, there are now also daily objectives. Some current objectives will change type with 5.8.
  • The Invasion bonus for Conquest objectives has been removed.
  • The Stronghold bonus still applies but has been changed. Each owned Stronghold counts for a 25% bonus, up to a max of 150%. Sorry to all you Stronghold full of chairs owners out there.
  • Weekly Conquests are no longer on a set schedule and will be randomly selected each week. The exception to this rule is that Conquests that coincide with recurring events will still be on a set schedule (such as the Gree event).

On the Guild Conquest front, we have gone even further on changes. We have untied the Guild rewards from the Conquest leaderboards, with the exception of the Guild in first place as they will still receive the Conqueror title and planetary bonuses. A big change is that now every planet falls into one of three designated Invasion Targets. These targets differ by the minimum Conquest Points thresholds that we call Planetary Yields. These thresholds determine the minimum points a Guild has to earn to receive those Conquests rewards. The higher the yield the harder it is for the Guild to receive the reward, but also means a better reward.

We made this change to encourage more leaderboard competition among similarly sized Guilds, smaller Guilds going after smaller Yields, etc. Note that this is not a restriction, just a recommendation. If a larger Guild wants to go for lesser rewards in a smaller yield, they can, and the same is true of a smaller Guild trying to go for the highest yield.

This is an overview of the Conquest changes you can expect to see in Game Update 5.8! Let us know your thoughts and any questions you may have.

Blatant cheating in WZs

Highlighting for accuracy. If you suspect someone is cheating/hacking...

Do
  • Report them in-game, as close to the time of the incident as possible.
  • Send me a message via forum PM with all possible details. What happened, date, time, server, character name, etc. Include any screens or video that you have (always helps during the investigation).
Don't
  • Make a post on the forums with screenshots or character information. This will get flagged as a call-out and removed.
Keith and I escalate every report we get for investigation. Having reports from all of you is invaluable in getting rid of players who feel the need to cheat / hack.

Thanks!

That being said, there's quite a few QoL issues being brought up that I didn't see mentioned. Have you guys discussed with the team some of the items below, and where that might fit into the 2018 roadmap, or beyond?

  1. Account-wide ignore feature going in both directions to help manage/mitigate the toxicity of public chat channels in the absence of in-game moderation. (And along with that, the removal of the cap on the Ignore list.)
  2. Right-click report feature for exploiting/hacking in WZs that captures the necessary server logs to verify cheating occurred so that the player isn't required to basically stop playing in order to submit a ticket or take supporting screenshots that they then submit directly to Eric or Keith.
  3. Stronghold decoration maintenance/updates, to include a hook capacity increase for flagships from 800 to 1000. (This area of the game is sorely in need of attention: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=921318)
  4. Guild interface improvements. (There was a really good suggestion thread on this but I can't find it now.)

Thanks again for the exciting news and your continued commitment to this game we all love.
Hey there. All excellent suggestions, so thanks for the ideas. Here's my thoughts on each:
  1. Account-wide ignore feature and ignore list cap - I like the account wide idea and we'll look into the Cap. What we may find is we need to automatically clean up your list and remove those accounts which are no longer part of TOR such as banned Advertisers.
  2. Right-click report feature for exploiting/hacking in WZs - not sure why we don't already have that in place. Will ask the team to investigate.
  3. Stronghold decoration maintenance/updates - we'll look into it.
  4. Guild interface improvements - Already on our list. I met with some players at our New York Cantina and they followed up with a ton of ideas. We've had many discussions about Guild Management, along with additional ideas on Guild engagement activities. It's not yet on the Production schedule, but it's an excellent Quality of Life improvement where all Guilds benefit.

Do you have plans to alter Bolster up again or will you put a cap on how many extra stats the Augments will give in pvp?
Check for this info when I get out the detailed breakdown on the new augments. If it isn't covered, please ask and I will look for clarification then. I will make a note though to try to ensure that information is conveyed.

Ah! Good question. Since we opted to do the forum version of the roadmap, where we can hang around in here and continue to answer questions, we don't see as big of an urgency to do a livestream ASAP. Since they can serve a similar purpose of Q&A around the roadmap.

Our current plan is that we will do a stream closer to the launch of 5.8. This way we can showcase some things from 5.8, answer questions about that update, 5.9, the roadmap, and beyond. In the meantime we are gonna continue working to address questions around the roadmap here on the forums. Along with releasing more details about the things that are coming in 5.8 and 5.9 as mentioned in the roadmap like conquests, augments, class changes, CM changes, etc.
