It has no impact at all. Your dark/lightside choices are not tied to your Faction.

There are PvE impacts to Faction selection (I will go into that in a separate post). Yes you can get that currency from all over the planet in addition to players.

PvP On Iokath

Hey folks,

With the launch of 5.2 The War for Iokath we wanted to be sure to encourage PvP wherever possible. It is a part of the design of the Missions on Iokath that players will be running into each other fairly often. This afforded us the opportunity to make PvP more of a focus beyond just a place for open world PvP to occur. Here are some of the things that set Iokath apart as it relates to PvP:
  • In open world PvP, enemies and allies will be determined by the Faction you choose to fight for, not the faction your Class is a part of.
    • Ex: If you are Trooper who chose to fight for the Republic, you will be flagged as an enemy against a Jedi Knight who is fighting for the Empire.
    • Choosing which Faction to side with has no effect on your character outside of Iokath.
  • You will be able to loot Iokath specific currency from other players that you kill. You will not actually be stealing that currency from them, but it will drop from them similar to how it works for NPCs.
  • On Iokath you can spend that currency to do special things such as piloting a walker. You will be able to pilot the walker in the same area as other players and use said walker for murderous intent against enemy players.

As you can see there are some specific additions that we are making in 5.2 to really encourage open world PvP play. Let us know if you have any questions about these changes.

#2 Trying to send video of cheating in PVP SWTOR refuses to reply

It would have been nice if Eric would have replied that any video format is fine or mentioned the preferred format or that they don't want videos, that way others would know.
Apologies if that is true. I took format to mean PM, email, etc. not video format.

To answer that specifically, I recommend posting an unlisted YouTube video (so that you aren't calling out players in any format) and then send that link along with details to me in a forum PM.

We absolutely want those reports so please send them on!

You can access it via groupfinder at level 50 as with other story modes. You will be bolstered accordingly.

I also confirmed that you do not need to complete the story to access the Operation.

I don't believe so, but let me verify for sure.

Is there any chance you might inform us what 'defaullt choices' Iokath assumes, if KotFE or KotET isn't finished?

Thanks!
Default choices assumed as in, what companions you have or don't have. Who you have let live or killed. Dark or light side, etc.

Or do you mean will we tell you what specific options you would receive by default? In that we case we will likely not tell you what choices to expect, for spoiler reasons.

Hey folks,

Today will mark the start of us revealing more of the nitty-gritty details of Game Update 5.2. Lets start at the beginning; who can access Iokath and how do you do so? We really wanted to ensure that as many players as possible are able to access the new content. With that in mind, here we go:
  • There is only one requirement to be able to access the new story content in 5.2, the character must be level 70.
  • You do not need to have an active subscription to play the story content, but in order to have a level 70 you must have subscribed since KOTET launched. Also, normal restrictions still apply, so you must be a subscriber to access the Gods from the Machine Operation.
  • The character does not need to have completed KOTFE or KOTET to play the new story. However, it is highly recommended that you have. There will be spoilers to those storylines if you have not played them. Also, if you have not completed KOTFE and KOTET, default choices will be assumed in the new storyline which may not match your preference.
    • Playing Iokath will not affect your KOTFE or KOTET gameplay in any way (such as advancing the story, etc).
  • To launch the new storyline, head to your ships Mission terminal where you can accept the Mission The Forgotten World.

If you have any questions about who can access Iokath or how to get there, let me know below. We will be continuing to post more updates throughout the week so keep your eyes peeled.

I have gotten 0 messages back from him in regards to the best format to send him videos or if he if wants them. Someone from SWTOR help me out and explain why you would ask us to submit video evidence and then you refuse to reply to us when he tell you we have it. Before anyone starts the replies about there is no cheating in pvp and its lag or i dont understand the game, this post is to ask for help from SWTOR team on how to submit the videos thats it.
As some others in the thread have said, we won't ever respond to a report of cheating/botting, etc with any kind of status update due to privacy reasons. The best method would be to send the details to me in a PM.

I do try to respond to each PM and at least acknowledge I received it, but I receive a lot of PMs and so I don't always do that. Just know that if you send something to me it isn't falling into a void, I do check them and pass them on as needed!

No producer live streams in almost 2 months?

Hey there, good question!

The reason for no stream is that we wanted to make sure we had something of substance to not only talk about, but show! We didn't want to get in the habit of doing a stream just to do one.

As I just mentioned in this thread, we will have our next stream in the next couple of weeks. Since we are close to the update now we have everything pretty well locked and we can not only talk about the changes and the content, but show you some of it too! Even beyond that, I am going to spend some time in the forums next week talking about some of the smaller, but new, things coming in 5.2 as well.
