Patch notes will be Monday but it is just a few bug fixes, nothing major in the update.

These should be the correct times:
  • 5AM PDT - 8AM PDT
  • 1200 GMT - 1500 GMT

Hey TUXs,

To be clear, the 100% boost after 5.2 will work at all Command Ranks (including CR 300). The other boosts are unchanged from their current functionality.

Future uses for Command Tokens is something we talk about often. In fact, using them to purchase Tier 1 gear is something that has been considered internally as well.

One change that is coming in 5.2 is that the Command Boosts will work at all Command Ranks. This gives more functionality for players who are at high Ranks as they can then still use the boosts on their main character. Especially to work into Tier 4 at CR 300.

It's a good opportunity to ask in this thread ... what else would you like to use Command Tokens for?

*snip*
Just to clear up any confusion, once the CXP event has ended we will be buffing the standard CXP rate. They won't be returning to rates that you experienced before the event, they will be higher. Exactly how high is still TBD and I should have that information in the coming weeks.

I need to ask - rather than just nerfing anything that can result in quicker CXP gains, have you thought about possibly increasing the points given to those that take longer? You're never going to keep up with the players and you'll always be one step behind if you're always looking to reduce the amount of CXP gained vs. increasing it in the areas that take longer. Incentive works.
Absolutely, good question. We certainly will lean into buffing over nerfing, where possible. In the case of Fractured and KotFE Chapter 1 and 2 though they are not only outperforming other Uprisings and Chapters, but also other content as well. It is still our intention that large group and difficult content (such as Operations and Warzones) are the best source of CXP.

If someone can do something by themselves (or in small groups), with minimal challenge, and receive more rewards than something like an Operation, you should expect it is gonna get adjusted.

Again, on the inverse, if you discover something that is not rewarding for its time spent, let us know! If "no one is running X Uprising" cause it is not worth the time, we will almost certainly buff it to bring it in line and feel rewarding.

Hey folks,

I talked with the team to get the scope of what Mission rewards are changing with 5.2. As some of you guessed in the thread, the following Missions are also having their CXP values reduced:
  • KOTFE - Chapter 1
  • KOTFE - Chapter 2
Those two along with Fractured are the only Mission rewards that are seeing major changes in 5.2. However, there are other Missions which are receiving minor tweaks as well. Just to set an expectation, beyond 5.2 we will continue to make Mission reward adjustments based on time spent vs reward. Our goal is quite simple, if you play a type of content, you should receive fairly consistent rewards across that content, difficulty, based on time spent.

Example: If you want to play story mode Uprisings, we want all Uprisings to give you relatively the same reward for the time you spend playing them. If an Uprising takes 5 minutes, it should give around 1/5th the reward of one that takes 25 minutes. Obviously that won't be exact, but you get the idea.

If I learn of any other CXP changes happening in 5.2 (or in the future) I will pass them on. Thanks everyone.

Unstable Arbiters Lightsaber for Direct Sale

Hey folks,

Later today we are going to be adding the first ever Platinum rarity item to the Cartel Market for direct sale, the Unstable Arbiters Lightsaber. The single-handed saber is going to be on sale from today, Tuesday 3/7 through next Tuesday 3/14 at the price of 7,600 Cartel Coins.

Before the item is posted we wanted to let you about why we are offering a Platinum item at all and the rationale for its price.

Why put up a platinum item for direct sale?
Since the introduction of Cartel Market packs we have had requests to allow more items, especially our rarest items, to be bought directly with Cartel Coins. The desire is to pay for the item and avoid the random nature of Cartel packs. For some time now, we have been direct selling more Cartel pack items and our data shows its a popular method of acquiring specific items from the Cartel Market. Yet, we have been cautious of doing this with Platinum items, as these items are intended to be exceptionally rare and we need to ensure we do not cause them to be undervalued, especially for players who got them from packs.

Why the price of 7,600 Cartel Coins?
Its a lot of Cartel Coins, but this sale is directed at those players who have the resources to acquire the item. The price is set higher than current Hypercrates and previous Gold rarity items to help maintain the rarity of the Unstable Saber. We may discover that direct selling Platinum items erodes their value, and that will have an impact on how we handle these sales in the future. Basically, this is a test and we wanted you to be aware of what we are doing and why.

The net result for us is we want to see if this is something our players have interest in. While ensuring it doesnt undermine the value for players who already have one and see how receptive everyone will be to us continuing to rotate other Platinum items into the Cartel Market in the future. More than likely, we would not direct sale Platinum items until theyve been unavailable from Cartel Packs for a number of months. This will also help maintain their rarity for a fairly long time.

Thanks everyone.

Hey folks,

Here is what happened. This change is intended, it just wasn't supposed to happen until 5.2. That is the reason it was missed in the patch notes.

In 5.1.2 we made a lot of adjustments to the rewards that come from Missions. Our goal was to rebalance these Missions to account for difficulty, number of players, and time spent. In 5.1.2, these were all buffs. We wanted to make these experiences better while the event was running.

As most people know, Fractured was far and away the best source of CXP for Uprisings. We did need to bring it in line with the other Uprisings for time spent to reward ratio. However, we were planning to do this after the event was over so that we didn't nerf any activities while it was running. Unfortunately the change got picked up early and went live in 5.1.2.

I will work on getting it added to patch notes and I apologize for it being missed. It is our goal that CXP gains are based on time, difficulty, and group size, with that in mind I will let you know of any future changes which are planned.

So What Happened Saturday Night!

Hey folks,

Good question. On Saturday night we had a hardware failure and the redundancy that was supposed to kick in, didn't. This caused our login service to become unavailable which stopped many players from getting into the game and unable to access the website. Players who were already in-game were not impacted.

The website being down during this time is why you didn't see any communication on the forums, it was only on social media.

Thank you again for your patience as we worked through the issue this weekend!
