Good question, but the answer gets a little complicated. What most of you associate credit selling with are the in-game mail and messages that you receive. The spammers. That is only a part of the networks associated with credit sellers. Your question is actually related to the distributors. Those are the accounts which are holding, hiding, and constantly moving the credits, they are not the same as the spammers.

That being said, we aren't going to go into detail on the trillions of credits that we just took out of the game with this wave of action.

Credit Sellers and Spammers

Hey folks,

As you may know from previous posts on the topic, when it comes to credit sellers we will often do a large takedown at one time. This allows us to have the largest impact on the credit sellers without them being able to react. Today was one of those instances.

With today's maintenance we acted on a few different initiatives to help curb the in-game chat and mail spam of credit sellers. Some examples of what was done today include:
  • Banning of thousands of credit selling accounts.
  • Closing a loophole in an existing promotion, that allowed credit sellers to quickly and easily make accounts which could send you in-game mail and access the fleet.
  • Made adjustments to some existing automated functions to better catch credit sellers.
  • And more... (we don't want to reveal everything we are doing to the credit sellers )
Keep in mind that when it comes to catching credit sellers, as we make adjustments, so do they. It is a constant game of cat and mouse, but it is one that we will continue to focus on aggressively. For this reason, it is important that you continue to always report these spammers and credit sellers as you see them. I know sometimes it seems like we aren't taking action, but I promise that your reports are critical in our ability to find and take action against credit sellers.

Eric, I know you can't or won't publicly discuss on going investigations or name and shame specific people.
But can we have some sort of statement or community communication to say that this behaviour is not tolerated. The silence on this issue has been deafening. Its been happening for years and I've only ever seen one announcement back during the first year of the game.

Please put something on the login screen reminding people that cheating the game is breaking the rules and will be delt with.

I watched your interview with Snave a few months ago where you commented that you never fully perma a ban an account for cheating. That is a policy you guys need to revisit. There should be zero tolerance for cheats using hacks, exploiting code or lag switching.
This lax policy you have is no deterrent.
It's always the same people or their friends that partake in this bad behaviour, but the lax deterrent is only encouraging more to try it.

Lastly, we have a diminished pvp population now, so these guys really stand out more. When you pop match after match with them it drives even more of the population away.

Please address this issue and communicate with us to restore some faith. As it stands, this issue has been festering with lots of us for a long time. I know it's a reason many of my friends have stopped playing and why I have reached the end of my patience on this issue too and it won't belong before I stop playing as well.
Hey Icy,

Any time that you see someone you suspect to be cheating in PvP do two things:
  1. Immediately report them in-game.
  2. Send Tait, myself, or both a PM with their details (server, character name, etc)
We always investigate these issues right away and take appropriate action. As a note, you mentioned that I had said that we won't permanently suspend an account for cheating/hacking. I hope I didn't say that, since it is not correct . Repeated or severe users of cheats/hacks have been and will be permanently banned.

Do we need to finish the Story before 5.0

So, does 5.0 wipe out the previous story or make it obsolete in the way that other expansions have done the same to previous content.
Hey Icykill_,

There are two elements to this question, story impact and logistics. As we have mentioned in the past, Eternal Thrones story is going to be a continuination of the story from KOTFE. For that reason, we highly recommend that you play through all of KOTFE before jumping into Eternal Throne. The choices that you made throughout this expansion will have consequences that you may not have seen yet!

Logistically, the plan right now is that you will be able to jump straight into Eternal Throne if you want to. However, as with past expansions, we would choose templated story choices for you to catch your character up. For that reason, again, we highly recommend you play through KOTFE before jumping into Eternal Throne. We will definitely talk about more details like this after the announcement on 10/7.

Are we ever going to get colour crystals above rating 136?

Hey folks,

Certainly other users in this thread have already answered the question, but I thought I would get some confirmation behind it as well. Color crystals having +41 to stats is something that we have no intentions of removing/changing. That stat value is tied into multiple items that players can earn or buy and so we wouldnt want adjust that value. We can adjust for stat balance, etc. on other items without impacting the +41 of the crystal.
