As a followup to this discussion, we're changing the update release to August 7 and running an additional round of PTS so that we can get some extra testing on the PvP toggle, line-of-sight fixes, some other bugs... and a newly added Overlook apartment space Please check out my post in the General Discussion forum for more details!

Update 5.9.2 Galactic Legend Release Moved to August 7

Hello everyone!

Thanks to all of the amazing and constructive feedback youve shared with us as part of this PTS cycle, the SWTOR dev team has determined some needed improvements to key functionality as well as areas where we want to put a little more time and polish into the Rishi Hideout Stronghold to ensure the update is as awesome as possible. To that end, we are pushing the release date for 5.9.2 Galactic Legend back one week to August 7, 2018. We will also be releasing one last update to PTS to help test out these high-priority items along with various other bugfixes that have been made; were aiming to make that available before this weekend, possibly as soon as tomorrow.

Lets walk through those high-priority pieces of feedback and the changes and polish that are resulting from them:
  • The ability to toggle PvP on and off throughout the entire Rishi Hideout Stronghold: This was added directly due to your feedback its a great idea and really useful for many Players. That said, there are a lot of potential complications and edge-cases involved, so we want to be sure the feature gets as much testing as possible before launch.
  • Line-of-sight should operate normally with decorations: There were a few issues identified with decorations where they werent respecting line-of-sight limitations consistently, and we agree that resolving this is critical to the functionality of Rishi. We believe we have corrected these issues, but again would like to include the community in trying them out to make sure were hitting the mark.
  • New area in the Rishi Hideout The Overlook: Many passionate Stronghold lovers have requested a more home-y space in the Rishi Hideout. I mentioned in a post last week that we would not be able to make that happen for release, but that the dev team really took that feedback to heart. Turns out, they took it so much to heart that the team went way above and beyond to get a new area added in record time so that we could include it in the extra PTS round! So please, load in, check it out, and maybe throw a bit of love the Stronghold teams way for making it happen

This is only a short list, of course; if theres another feature improvement or bug that you dont see mentioned above, be sure to check out Muscos upcoming post this week that will include more specific details about what will and wont be making it into the update.

One of our major goals with this release was to revitalize our PTS process so that we could better include the community in finalizing 5.9.2 at the high level of quality you expect from Star Wars: The Old Republic. Were very pleased with the participation and highly constructive feedback weve received as a result of this process, and were really looking forward to repeating the experience for more of our upcoming releases later this year.

Thank you all so much for your participating, sharing your thoughts, and supporting a great release for SWTOR!

Hey folks!

First off, I want to thank you all for your feedback throughout the PTS cycle! Although we won't be able to address every point of feedback, your input has significantly improved the quality of this update, and we look forward to repeating the process for more of our releases in the coming months.

A key piece of feedback we've definitely seen and investigated is the addition of a "house" or "cantina" type of building to the stronghold; unfortunately, that just isn't something we can feasibly add to the stronghold at this point. I know this may seem like a simple request, but it would actually require significant development and testing time to implement at quality. That said, we are taking this particular piece of feedback to heart and will make sure that future strongholds include those types of spaces where it makes sense.

I also want to clarify that although this is the last build we have planned for PTS, it does not represent the final build that will be going live as update 5.9.2. Additional fixes and changes that are not in the final PTS patch notes will be included in the full update, such as the PvP toggle. The comprehensive patch notes for 5.9.2 will be released a bit closer to the update going live, which is still planned for July 31.

Hey folks,

Please use this thread to give us your thoughts on the Rishi Stronghold changes that are in the final PTS build (going out today or tomorrow). I will leave the other thread open so I don't squash any on-going convos there. Please use this thread only after playing with the Stronghold on the new patch.

Thanks!

Hey folks,

Quick update, we are almost a wrap on PTS! Again, we cannot thank you all enough for the time you have spent testing 5.9.2. Your feedback has been invaluable in getting us to this point. The plan right now is that we will have our final PTS patch either later today or tomorrow. We are going to focus the last stage of testing on:
  • Rishi Stronghold
  • Mandalorian Battle Ring
I am going to close and make new feedback threads for both of those topics to ensure we get feedback from the most recent version of PTS. Note that feedback you give from this round of changes may not be fully captured in the 5.9.2 release, but your feedback can help us plan for beyond that as well!

Here are the notes for the next build:

Not the emotes! We all need Rak smilies. Is it that they don't work at all or they aren't showing up in the post/reply interface?

Hey folks,

Our site maintenance has concluded. Part of today's maintenance was to establish an https:// version of SWTOR.com. As of today we will not force anyone through that site, but we will be redirecting there at some point in the future. You are free to manually go that route now if you prefer, it is the same as the current SWTOR.com on https://.

Thanks everyone!

Hey folks,

Our team is going to be performing back-end maintenance on the website all day. The website will remain available for the duration of maintenance but you may notice some slowness, unavailable pages, etc. You should be able to access your account page all day, that page won't be impacted.

Thanks everyone!
